My Plans for my Future by Greco Romero Ramirez (Twilight Class of 2024)

I have a few things I want to do for my future. Right now I'm 18 years of age and have a huge decision to make--what i am going to do for the rest of my life. I have a few things in mind but I'm an overthinker, and I'm always questioning myself if it's a right idea to do something, like what would be the outcomes? What am I going to get out of it? Am I going to like it? I'm always deciding something and then I kind of give up on it, or I do more research and I find things that I didn't really know, so i'm very picky when it comes to jobs for my future because i know how it feels to work at a job where you don't even like working you just do it for the money and i don't want that for the rest of my future.

I used to want to join law enforcement, and I took a class because my school offered it. I used to alway want to be a police officer. I would dream about it because what I would see in the movies or shows on the TV, and I thought it was perfect with me, the action, the adrenaline. arresting the bad guys, but once i realized that it was more than just catching the bad guys my thoughts about becoming a police officer kind of just flew away. Once I started learning about the laws knowing the big background check they do before you even get accepted to the training, I just didn't find it interesting anymore so I began to look for other things that would fit me.
I was just hanging around and one of my mom’s friends started talking to me she asked about me future, she wanted to know if i already had a plan in mind and i said, “I still don’t know i might join the military at this point,¨ and she ask if i knew what i wanted to do in the military. I said no, so she proceeded to tell me that her cousin is a welder and that he makes a lot of money in that trade and so since the military offers welding programs she recommended me to learn about that. At first I didn't know what a welder did, nor did I know how much a welder can make and so I started to put my mind into that and started doing my research. I come to the conclusion that welders make a lot of money, i was so excited because not only do they get paid really good but i can save a lot of money by not having to go to college and study a career and end up in debt, it's also something that seems to be of my personality and i also found out that my dad and my grandpa were welders, well my grandpa was my dad would only help him out but anyways i think welding will be my plan for my future. I am already searching for a union that will provide me with learning. I will be working but also I will be studying it too, and I won't have to pay anything. It's a 4 year contract i believe.

After all that happens, I would love to travel the world and later have kids.
